Frequently asked questions.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

We are based in Leicestershire, only 20 minutes from the city centre. We love to travel, so no where is too far. We have provided photography and video in London, Scotland, Devon & Cornwall, Wales, Europe – even as far as New Zealand.

What photography and video gear do you use?

At the moment, we change between a Canon R5, Canon R6 and Canon 5D MKIV cameras depending on conditions and requirements. For low light, the R6 is an exceptional tool, making the most of a lower megapixel count matched with a fast lens such as the RF 70-200 L or EF 50mm L Prime. The R5 and 5D are the go-to for ultra-high resolution, detail and colours. Both the R5 and R6 offer outstanding video recording capabilities, too, perfect for cinematic style B-roll or 4k interviews.

We also use a DJI Mini 3 drone for versatility and usability, along with Manfrotto gimbals, Ninja screens and Rode audio recording devices.

What happens if the weather is bad on a filming or photography day?

Sometimes bad weather can make for the most atmospheric, authentic and creative photographs, so 99% of the time we will operate as planned as long as there are no risks of damaging gear, locations or people.

Should a date have to be rearranged, provided the new date is mutually agreed and within 1 month, no additional fees on top of covering the expenses and work completed will be added.

Are retainers or multiple bookings available?

Yes, and we encourage them! In fact, we have a few packages available for bookings of over 10 days. Our retainer packages usually require a rolling six-month term.

Do you have a price list?

Yes, our guideline prices can be found HERE, although we do provide a unique quote for every client to ensure it is tailored to their needs. We offer very fair rates for the services we offer.

Does Kingfisher Content have its own studio?

Yes, for small to medium sized products. For anything larger than shirts, we have a great relationship with a local studio that can cater for all needs. We also offer a selection of different backgrounds if required, along with props and more.

How much is a deposit?

A non-refundable deposit may be requested if booking well in advance or if certain circumstances require one.  The deposit amount and date will be stated in the quote details.

Do you quote for specific requirements or do you only charge on a flat rate?

For the majority of our work, we quote for each and every client to ensure that all key requirements are met and at the most cost-effective amount for you. We tend to base our work around a day rate and what type of content is needed or prioritised.  This way, both parties know exactly what is and is not agreed.

Are you and your gear insured?

Yes, we have public liability and professional indemnity insurance, plus spare gear is always taken as a backup.  We also have a separate insurance for our drone usage.

Can we see examples of work completed by Kingfisher Content?

You can see some of the latest photographic & video work HERE, with case studies and portfolios also available on request.

Do you offer wedding photography and video?

The owner, Matt Kidd, offers wide ranging services, including weddings and special events and much more. We are happy to quote for all requirements.

I need a headshot photographer – is this something you offer?

Certainly – we offer headshots for actors, models, couples and more as part of our Headshots, Influencer and couples packages. You can see them HERE.

What is the usual turn-around time for completed work?

For photographs, this is typically 1-2 weeks for edited images, but can be as little as a few hours after an event if requirements dictate this. For video, anywhere between 2-4 weeks on average.
